Harold P. Prater

Harold P. Prater, 85, of West Columbia died January 6,2021. Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late Eugene and Bessie Prater. He retired from Carolina Eastman. He was also a member of the Masons. Mr. Prater served in the National Guard. Mr. Prater is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Prater. He is also survived by 3 sons, Harold L. Prater (Karen), D. Wayne Prater (Tracy), and J. Ray Prater; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Mr. Prater was a beloved husband, Papa, and friend. He loved his family and friends dearly. He loved to talk and always knew someone wherever he went. If he didn’t, then he would have a new friend when he left. A graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Monday, January 25,2021 at Woodridge Memorial Park in Lexington. Active Pallbearers will be Lenny Martin, Tim Seek, Matt Seek, Damon Prater, Jimmy Reed, and Chase Seek. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gage Jones, Carson Seek, and Erik Seek. *Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Harold P. Prater*
