Grace Henry Harper (83) passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday September 25, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Gaston SC, she was the daughter of the late T.A. (Dick) Henry and Ruth Carson Henry. Grace was predeceased by her deeply loved husband of fifty-five years, Joe Saye Harper, with whom she had a long and wonderful life. Grace graduated from Swansea High School in 1958 and went on to complete her education at the South Carolina Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. Over the course of the next fifty-five years Grace worked as an RN at many of the health facilities in Charlotte NC and the Columbia area. Two of her favorites were Lexington Medical Center and Columbia Nephrology Center where she established many lifelong relationships which she treasured immensely. Grace was deeply faithful and an active member of Platt Springs United Methodist Church for forty-four years where she received much joy while being involved in many activities within her religious community. Grace is survived by her three sons, Tony (Beverly), Andy (Melissa) and Bruce (Maria) Harper. Her sons gave her seven grandchildren that filled her life with sunshine and they in turn gave Grace thirteen great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren which brought her even more joy. Grace is also survived by her loving sister Ann (Cothran) Riddle who she delighted in talking to every day, as well as many other nieces, nephews and extended family. Grace and Ann were predeceased by their blessed brother, Charles (Dale) Henry. Grace was loved by her family and the many friends she made throughout the years. Grace was never too busy to help anyone who needed it and always made sure they were fed and had a warm smile as she ministered within her community. Grace was a fine and compassionate soul while on this earth and we celebrate the reunion of her and her beloved Joe in Heaven. In lieu of flowers, Grace wished that donations be made specifically to the Platt Springs United Methodist Church HVAC fund.
