Godfrey "Jay" Braxton Jones, Sr.

Godfrey (Jay) Braxton Jones , Sr . passed suddenly Monday, July 3 , 2017 at the Veterans Medical Hospital, Columbia SC.   Mr . Jones was born October 18, 1956 to Alex and Beatrice Jones Pratt in Southern Pines NC.

Mr . Jones is survived by his wife Ann Jones , son Godfrey B Jones Jr of Charlotte NC, daughters Valerie (Sean) Watkins of Greenville SC, Jayquanda Hope-Jones of Columbia SC , grandchildren Kennedi X and Alexander X Watkins, Greenville SC.  Sisters Theolia Patterson Taylor of Severn MD ,  Michelle Pratt Howel l, Sa ndra Pratt Ramos , Vickie M Pratt of Fayetteville NC and  Stella Pratt Lawson of Tennessee.

Brothers William ( Clarissa ) Pratt of Conyers, GA , Ronald Jones and Eddie Martin Pratt of Southern Pines NC and numerous nieces and nephews.

Step Children Br i a n (Amanda) Hooks of Elloree, Amy (John) Coleman of Orangeburg, Emily Hughes of Columbia and step grandchildren Summer Ofeldt, Kaitlin and Brynli Hooks, Colton Coleman.

In addition to his parents, Mr . Jones was predeceased by brothers James E Jones of Hartsville SC , Thadford Jones of Southern Pines NC and s ister Verna (Bill) Crawford of Sanford NC .

Visitation will be Monday July 10 2017 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Moseley Funeral & Cremation. 914 Meeting Street, West Columbia SC.  Services will follow in the Chapel at 3:00pm.
