A service to celebrate the life of Gary L. Watts, 79, of Elgin will be held at 6:00 pm Thursday September 1, 2016 at Park Street Baptist Church, 2204 Park Street, Columbia, SC 29201 . The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
Mr. Watts passed away Monday August 29, 2016 at NHC of Lexington. He was born in Tennessee and was the son of the late Jane McCloud Watts. Mr. Watts retired from Dupont and was the current owner of What-A-Burger of West Columbia, he spent 6 years in Indonesia establishing plants and also worked as a consultant with Mobile Process Technologies. He served as the past president of the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce and was a member of Park Street Baptist Church where he had formerly served as a deacon.
Mr. Watts is survived by his loving wife, Jeannie Watts; children, Jane Watts, Gary L. Watts, Jr., grandchildren, Taylor (Kristal) Watts, great grandchildren, Breyligh, Gage Patrick Watts.; sister, Sandra Jane (Joe) Wilson; nieces, Debbie Martin and Holley Thompson and nephew Scott Wilson; children, Kwon (Beth) Thomas Miller and Kimberlea (Keith) Oiler; grandchildren, Tristen and Gabriel Miller and Austin Oiler; fou r legged companions, Choco and Sam and many friends and family at his church.
