Gary Doyle Templeton of Austin, Texas, passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 8, 2024 at the age of 60.
He was the son of the late Wendell Melvin Templeton and is survived by his mother, Phyllis Baxley Templeton of Gaston, South Carolina and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Gary was born in Kassel, Germany. Growing up in a military family Gary lived in various countries around the world, including Turkey and Ecuador. Gary served in the United States Air Force for 7 years and eventually settled in Texas. He was happily employed at Epiphany Dermatology, Austin, Texas in IT Support.
Gary had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing. Over the years he sang in many Christmas and Easter Cantatas at church. Anyone who knew Gary knew that he loved to tell “Dad-Jokes”. He inherited that skill from his father, Wendell. He loved classic Disney animated movies, sci-fi movies, and classic sitcoms such as The Golden Girls and Designing Women. He had great love for animals and recently shared a story about how he would buy roasted peanuts to feed the squirrels that would visit his apartment balcony. He loved to watch them grab the peanuts and scurry away to eat them. Gary was a joyful person. He was kind, compassionate and he had a huge heart to go along with his big beautiful smile. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
