Eric L. Fowler

Eric L. Fowler went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 18, 2020. He was 88. A life-long resident of West Columbia, SC, he was the son of Benny and Birdie Fowler, and brother to Raymond Fowler and Miriam Fowler Morris King. He graduated from Brookland-Cayce High School in 1952, where he was later inducted into their athletic hall of fame for baseball.

. After the war, Mr. Fowler returned to West Columbia and worked as art director for Columbia Outdoor Advertising for over 33 years.
His love of West Columbia and her people led him to serve on West Columbia City Council for 24 years without missing one meeting. For this accomplishment, Mr. Fowler was presented with the Order of the Silver Crescent
, presented to him by former SC Governor, Nikki Haley.
Mr. Fowler was a life-long member of First Baptist Church of West Columbia, where he served as the Fishers of Men Sunday school teacher, as well as serving as a chairman of de
