Elizabeth Ann (Betty) Gaetan
Elizabeth Ann (Betty) Gaetan, a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, at the age of 81. She has gone to heaven to join her beloved husband, Manuel Gaetan, with whom she shared 57 years of devoted marriage.
Born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, on July 24, 1944, Betty was the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth Hochgetel. She was a proud alumna of the University of South Carolina, where she earned her degree in English with a concentration in Women's Studies.
Betty had an unwavering kindness and a knack for making people feel instantly welcome; she was incredibly comfortable meeting new people and was an amazing hostess. She cherished her monthly gatherings with her Bunco ladies, a group she enjoyed for nearly 20 years. Betty was a faithful and active member of Northeast Presbyterian Church and the Good News Sunday School Class. In her later years, she selflessly became the dedicated caregiver for her husband, demonstrating a deep and enduring commitment. Outside of her family and community, she enjoyed following the Atlanta Braves, the Golden State Warriors, and Liberty Flames Football, and could proudly recite the entire soundtrack to Hamilton.
She is survived by her loving sister, Pat Nath(and her husband, Jack). She is also survived by her devoted daughters, Michele Miller(and her husband, Graeme), Linda Gaura, and her bonus daughter, Elizabeth (and her husband, Mike).
Betty was a cherished grandmother to Michael Larsson (Lauren), Mary Beth Ager(Casey), Sarah Miller (Grant), and Alex, and a loving great-grandmother to Leah, Lincoln, Audrey, and Nolan.
The family extends its deepest gratitude to Betty's dedicated caregivers from Right at Home and the compassionate hospice nurses at VIA Health Partners for their unwavering support and kindness.
