Eleanora Allen

Mrs. Allen was born in East Palestine, Ohio on November 20, 1920.  After high school she joined the American Red Cross and served in Europe following World War Two where she met her future husband, Maj. Herbert B. Allen.  They married and spent an Army career together until his retirement in 1978, upon which they settled in Clarksville.  Mrs. Allen was active in the local community and volunteered for 28 years at the Loaves and Fishes soup kitchen.  She was active in her church and belonged to several civic societies in Clarksville.

Mrs. Allen was predeceased by her husband COL Herbert B. Allen (Ret.) in 2003 after 56 years of marriage.  She is survived by her son, Herbert B. Allen Jr. of Columbia.
