It is with love and gratitude that the family of Eleanor “Judy” Ebbert Frazier of Blythewood, South Carolina announce her passing on June 10, 2025. Judy was born June 18, 1934 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Henry August and Mary Margaret Ebbert.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, John Robert Frazier, infant son David Paul, and siblings Henry “Hank” Ebbert (Devona), Robert “Bob” Ebbert (Midge), Cornelia “Connie” Flanagan (Joseph), Mary Ann Hess (Chandler), John “Georgie” Ebbert (Debbie), and Margaret Prager (Richard).
Judy was a child of the Great Depression and the World War II era. She had a simple life on the family farm until the untimely passing of her father in 1949. Judy moved with her mother and her younger siblings into her grandparent’s home and began supporting her family with babysitting jobs, work in retail sales, and as a telephone operator for AT&T. Her older sister introduced her to her future husband, John Robert Frazier, and they were married shortly thereafter on October 24, 1953. The newlyweds moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana (1953) for her husband to complete college and they started a family. They moved to Dayton, Ohio (1956) where they grew the family to 4 children. They then moved to Columbia, South Carolina (1971) to open NCR and finally to Blythewood, South Carolina (1985) to retire into their custom-built dream home.
Judy dedicated her life to raising and caring for her family. She found time to bowl in league play, golf, sew, play numerous card games, and volunteer while supporting her active family. During retirement she especially enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are son John Frazier (Donna), daughters Judith “Judi” Harth (John), Janet Garvey (Patrick), and Joy Mitchell (John). Grandchildren Melissa Ramsey, Nicole Quinlan (Rick), Kyle Garvey (Partner Morgan Miles), Andrew Harth (Brittany), Lauren Garvey (Fiancé David Thomas), Madison Frazier, and Hope Mitchell. Great grandchildren Emma Ramsey, Robert Ramsey, Declan Quinlan, Lydia Harth, Olivia Garvey, and Lyla Harth. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and loving neighbors.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 27th at 12 o’clock at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 721 Polo Rd, Columbia, SC, 29223. A private family burial service will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery later that day.
