Earnestine A. Senn

January 3, 1926 — April 21, 2022

Earnestine “Teenie” Andrews Senn, 96, of West Columbia, South Carolina, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 21, 2022. One of seven children, she was born in Dooly County, Georgia, to the late Lynward Franklin and Ressie Ruth Purvis Andrews.

Graduating from high school, she went to work in Macon, Georgia, where she met her late husband, Ralph M. Senn and became his “World War Two Souvenir.” “Teenie” was a long time member of Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church serving in many capacities there. She was a member of the Loyal Workers Sunday School Class (founding member), Minnie Shull Circle, Joyful Sound Choir, Senior Adult Handbells, Young at Heart group, holding leadership positions in these as well as serving as Secretary of Children’s Department and Vice-President of the United Methodist Women. She was proud of starting the Girl Scout program at Mt. Hebron in the 1950’s. Beyond the church, “Teenie” enjoyed her participation in the Golden Friendship Club and the Earlewood Elite Line Dancers as well as traveling the USA. At the age of 92 ½, she visited Alaska making it her 50th state. Not stopping there, the following summer she went on a family vacation covering 5,475 miles in 19 states!

“Teenie” was preceded in death by her parents; all of her siblings and their spouses; her husband of 69 ½ years; all of his siblings and their spouses; and her son, Marvin “Buster” Senn. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Jones (Lin) of Durham, NC; her grandchildren, Melissa Jones of Greensboro, NC; Matthew Jones (April) of Durham, NC; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Her family extends a heartfelt thank you to the church family, friends, and family for the many acts of love and kindness shown to her during her life’s journey. A special thank you to her caregivers from Amedisys Hospice Care and from RetireEASE Senior Services who helped care for her with kindness and dignity as if she was a member of their own families.

A Service of Death and Resurrection will be held at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 2 PM with interment in the church’s cemetery and a visitation immediately after the service.
