Derrell passed away unexpectedly on June 21st, 2023 while on vacation with his family on Pawleys Island, SC. He was born May 24th, 1953 in Georgetown, SC to Arthur Lambert and Janice Byrdic Lambert.
He is survived by his loving wife Marie Tyson Lambert, his son Derrell A. Lambert Jr. (Kerry Howard) and his stepson J.D. Gable III, His daughter-in-law Christie Johnson Lambert and his grandsons Clayton, Christopher, Liam, Brennon, and Kade.
Derrell is also survived by his brothers, Edwin (Karen), Bruce (Cindy), and Craig (Gloria).
Derrell was predeceased by his mom Janice, his stepmom Faye, and his dad Arthur. His brother Perry, his brother Richard, and Richards wife Alena. He is also predeceased by his son Michael Brandon Lambert and sister, Trudy Lambert.
He was a class of 1971 graduate of Winyah High School in Georgetown, SC. He was employed with Eastman Kodak / Eastman Chemical Company for 35 years before retiring. After retiring he returned to help with the drawing management system for DAK Americas, and most recently Southern Industrial Company.
On July 10th, 1998 he married Marie and they stayed lovingly devoted to each other until his untimely passing.
Derrell was a Godly man, with a heart to serve others. He was a MYF (Methodist Youth Fellowship) leader for many years. He lead the music for Sonshine kids and VBS as well. Derrell touched the lives of many children and young adults through his desire to share the love of Christ. He also loved to play his guitar, sing, and write songs. If something needed to be done Derrell would be the first one to step up. If he said he would take care of something he could be counted on to do so.
Derrell always had a welcoming smile and a kind word for any situation he encountered.
Derrell was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him.
