David “Dj” Carroll Jennens

A service to celebrate the life of David “DJ” Carroll Jennens, 80, of Gaston will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday August 3, 2021 at the West Columbia First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow at 2:00pm at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday August 2, 2021 at Moseley Funeral & Cremation Service of West Columbia. DJ passed away Friday July 30, 2021 at his home. He was born in Niles, Ohio and was the son of the late Rose Jennens, was raised by his late grandparents, Godfrey Herbert and Ruby Jennens. DJ retired in 1994 from the US Army and Air National Guard after 20 years of service, as a paratrooper. He was a Gulf War veteran who built bombs to keep us free. DJ also retired in 2005 as owner/operator at Peppermint Trucking, LLC. DJ loved all forms of NASCAR Racing hoping to watch it everyday. DJ is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Rebecca D. Moody Jennens; children, Jennifer (Richard) Steele of Millersport, Ohio, Jesica (James) Slocumb, III of Millersport, Ohio, Alisa (Ricky) Boehnlein of Cleveland, Ohio and Jason (Cheryl) Van Dyke of Walla Walla, Washington; grandchildren, Ori (Bonnie) Van Dyke, Tosha Van Dyke, James (Kari) Slocumb, IV, Jonathan Slocumb, Josie Slocumb, Ricky Boehnlein, Cameron Moody Maddy Moody, Triceton Manning Hook, Sarah Davis, Emity Davis, Ryan Boehnlein, Angel Boehnlein, and Eric Boehnlein; seven grandchildren; special niece, Sherri Anderson; siblings, Dick (Nawanna) Anderson, Rebecca (Jim) Kid and Judy Jackson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill and Rachael Watts, Terry and Cindy Moody and Mark and Tonya Osment.
