Dan was the son of Roy Daniel and Ruth Marie Raber. Born April 28, 1935 in Conneaut, Ohio. He was the brother of Marie Lou (deceased) and Ralph (Toledo, Ohio). Dan earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Case Institute of Technology in Cleveland Ohio, where he met his wife, Joyce Alleen Clark of Wickliffe Ohio. They had five sons, Jeffrey, Gregory (Martha) Randall, Marshall, Jeremy, and two grandchildren Katherine and Braxton.
Dan retired from Square D Company, then worked for Controlled Automation Technologies for several more years.
Dan's passions included:
A lifelong avid and active involvement with the Boy Scouts of America (he was an Eagle Scout)
Enjoying the great outdoors by long distance hiking, backpacking, canoeing and kayaking trips
Singing Tenor with the First Presbyterian Church choir in Asheville, as well as other choral groups
Enjoying live choral, symphonic and dance performances
Volunteering with the Carolina Mountain Club and the Friends of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
