Dale Johnson

Dale Johnson of West Columbia, South Carolina went home to be with the Lord surrounded by friends April 17, 2025. This was made possible by the gift of God’s loving Son, Jesus, Who gave Himself as a sacrifice for Dale’s sins so that He could be forgiven by God’s grace.

He never married or had children, but that didn’t exclude him from having an incredible life full of interest and hobbies. He loved baseball and softball and played it for many years. He absolutely loved Mustangs, both the cars and airplanes. He often used a flight simulator and built model airplanes. His father taught him woodworking. He also enjoyed hand radio, guitar, and his beloved cats Smudge and Scottie.

Dale worked for Eagle Aviation as an Avionics Technician for 5 years.Then retired from State DOT in the IT department in 2018 after 29 years of service. Over the last two years he was on volunteer staff at Saluda River Baptist Church working on social media, website, and other IT projects.

He was predeceased by father; Rev. Harvey Johnson, and mother, Ernestine Johnson. He is survived by brother; Neil Johnson (Vickie), niece Laura Johnson Morse (James), and great nephews, Lucas Morseand Edward Johnson. Along with his best friend Todd Carpineto(Kathy) their two children Stephanie Rogers (Steven), Stephen Carpineto (Amanda), his neighbor Ashley White, her son Liam, and his loving church family.

A memorial service will be held at Saluda River Baptist Church, 3459 Sunset Blvd., West Columbia, SC 29169 May 5, 2025, at 4pm. Conducted by Pastor John Yorio. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Saluda River Baptist Church.
