Constance Mae Reid Cashwell of West Columbia, South Carolina entered the gates of Heaven with a sweet little smile on her face the morning of June 13, 2021. Connie was born on September 29, 1939, in Washington, DC. She was the oldest child of Raymond and Kathleen Reid. Connie was happily married to her husband, Charles Cashwell, for 42 beautiful years. Connie was a loyal friend, devoted wife, and an extraordinary mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is described as "never meets a stranger" and "the life of the party" by her loved ones. Connie lived a life where she deeply loved everyone and was loved this way in return. She enjoyed spending her time making beautiful paintings, cruising with her dear friends, camping trips in her RV with the love of her life, cooking for family, and of course, dancing. Connie had a way of making every person she met feel as if they were the most special person in the world. In her final moments of life, she was surrounded by many of her loved ones. In these moments, her family spoke of their favorite things about Connie. Including her big heart and ability to always forgive. Her endless breakfast dates with grandchildren, famous "Happy Birthday" phone calls, and her ability to make even the smallest things like a ride in the car, exhilarating. She was called artistic, beautiful, accepting, imaginative, kind, loyal, and able to find the beauty in everything and everyone. Amongst all of this, her family spoke of how Connie always looked good in any hat she put on, and "never met a pizza she didn't like". She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Raymond and Kathleen Reid, brothers, Donnie and Ronnie Reid, and beloved mother-in-law, Henrietta B. Cashwell. Connie is survived by her husband, Charles Cashwell, her three children, Paris Cobb (Lanny), Lonnie Smith (Traci), Windy Lucas (John). Connie will be fondly remembered by her 13 grandchildren, Patrick, Shaina, Chelsea, Blake, Lauren, Mackenzie, Logan, Isabella, Dawson,
Reid, Gracin, Haven, and Garrison, and her 11 great-grandchildren. Connie is also survived by her sister, Pamela Tisdale and her daughter Deborah Lyda (Timothy), and her son Terry. The family would like to express their appreciation for all of the love, support, and prayers that have been received during this time. Losing Connie has been extremely heartbreaking, but the love for Connie, by everyone, is helping the family get through this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation to your favorite charity be made in honor of Connie. There will be no funeral. Instead, there will be a Celebration of Connie's Life at the Saluda River Club, Chickawa Clubhouse in Lexington, South Carolina on July 10, 2021, from 5:00-9:00 pm. All of Connie's family and friends are cordially invited to attend.
