Betty Morris

With sadness, love and profound gratitude, the family of Betty Hayes Morris announces her passing on December 4, 2023. Betty was born on February 16, 1933, daughter of Lacy & Hallie Newsom Hayes, on a cotton and tobacco farm in Dillon County, South Carolina. She was an honors graduate and an outstanding basketball player at Latta High School. She married Marion Morris, who was the love of her life. She and Marion were blessed with four children, Stanley (Debbie), Jeannie (Ed), Chris (Debbie), Michael, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband Marion C. Morris and her parents.

Memorial service will be held Saturday December 9, 2023, 1:00 at Virginia Wingard Memorial United Methodist Church, 1500 Broad River Road, Columbia, SC 29210, which she dearly loved.

Visitation will follow service.
