Benjamin Elias Snyder of Lexington, SC entered the world on July 19, 1999, In Stockbridge, Georgia, and unexpectedly left us on October 28, 2019.
A 2017 graduate of River Bluff High School in Lexington, SC, Ben’s proudest moment was enlisting in the United States Marine Corp in 2018. He was deeply disappointed to leave Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island after suffering two broken legs during training. Not one to be easily defeated, Ben changed course and went to work at Econ-o-bug in Lexington SC, where he planned to continue working as he began college courses in January 2020.
Ben loved and was loved by so many, and all who knew him will remember him for his vibrant mind, sharp wit, precocious wisdom, and strength of character. His family will cherish their memories of Ben’s goofiness, his deep capacity for love, and the way he gave his best effort to everything that he did. Ben loved nature, his 4-legged best friend Walter, playing paintball with his friends, and being a wonderful uncle to his nephew, Jordan. Ben leaves behind chess games unplayed, politics unargued, whiskey untasted, cigars unsmoked, and mountains unclimbed.
Ben is survived by his mother, Barbra Snyder of Lexington, SC, his brother Aaron Snyder of Lexington, SC, his twin sister Frederica of Lexington, SC, his sister Katherine Stein of Charlotte, NC, and his nephew Jordan Phagen of Lexington, SC. Ben’s beloved father, Eric Snyder of Lexington SC, predeceased him in 2015. Ben leaves behind so many friends who will miss him, and employers and coworkers who feel they’ve lost a member of their family.
