Barbara (Stewart) Glenn

November 21, 1932 — January 24, 2016

Barbara Stewart Glenn, 83, widow of F. Luther Glenn died peacefully on January 24, 2016.

Born in Greer, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Blanche Charity and John Harrison Stewart. She was predeceased by a sister, Audrey, and two brothers, Eron and Harry.

A talented musician, she earned a full music scholarship to Columbia College and served as organist to many churches including 25 years as the tradition choir organist for Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church.

She was retired from the University of South Carolina.

Surviving are her three children, David of Columbia, Melanie Campbell (Kevin) of Gaston, and Eddie (Sherri) of Lexington, granddaughter Lindsey Blanche of Charleston, and many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 28 at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church located at 2700 Ashland Rd in Columbia.  The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the church narthex. Interment will follow at Bush River Memorial Gardens

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rapha Residential Care and St Paul Lutheran Hospice for their loving and compassionate care and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Our Lady of the Hills Memorial Fund.
