Annie R. Smith went to be with her Lord Jesus on October 23, 2019.

She was b orn March 10, 1934 in Jackson County NC to the late David Paul Bishop and Eve McMahan Bishop. She was married to Clarence E. Smith (Pete) who preceded her in 2001; they were married for 50 years. She is survived by her 6 children, C. Edward Smith (Jan) , David J. Smith , Larry D. Smith, Charles L. Smith, Sheri Dunbar and Brian Smith; 10 grandchildren, Ashley Ganser (Howie), Amber Quattlebaum , Justin Smith, C. Edward Smith III, Michael J. Smith, Amanda L. McCollum (Dennis), Carolyn Smith, Anna Dunbar, Jennifer Riley (Brian), Brittany Richard son (Prince); and 10 greatgrand children, Jordan, Jimmy, Mia, Laura Ann, Gavin, Gracie, Josh, Addison, Bra eleigh , Beckett, Quentan , Aubrey, Avery; and 2 great greatgrandchildren , AP and Ashtan . Ann is also survived by 5 siblings, Cecil Bishop, Frank Bishop, Ike Bishop, Michael Bis hop, Vanessa Miller and p redeceased by 4 siblings, Bill Bishop, Verna Fletcher, Edith Wid e ner and Clayton Bishop.

Ann was a devoted wife, mother and friend to all. She loved the Lord Jesus, loving to all, ever kind and forgiving. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church for 40+ years and dearly loved her sisters in Christ in her Hope Sunday School Class.

Ann received an Associate Degree from Columbia Junior College in Secretarial Science. She enjoyed a 25 year career in Civil Service at Fort Jackson, Columbia SC , and was awarded recognition as an Honorary NCO by the United States Army .

The family expresses special thanks to Cynthia Andrades , Gina Harris, LaDonya Hallman, Cyndi Boot , Cathy Jeter and Ana Rodriguez for the care, love and friendship given to Ann.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm at Temple Baptist Church, 806 Universal Dr. Columbia SC 29209 .

Tuesday, October 29, 2019

V isitati on will be held from 1 – 2 pm at the church. Graveside service for family will follow the service.
