Andrew Daniel Bunton, Sr, 88, passed away peacefully at his home in Columbia, SC on June 3, 2020. He was born June 17, 1931 in Colleton County, the son of the late Willie and Cora Bunton. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Eula Elizabeth.
He is survived by his son, Andrew “Danny” Bunton, Jr of Columbia; daughters, Wendy Hallman (Philip) of Batesburg and Sonja McLeod (Darryl) of Surfside Beach; grandchildren, Laurie Quinones, Melissa Gilbert (Remy), Paige McLeod and Kellie McLeod; great grandchildren, Gabriela Gilbert, Remy Gilbert, II, Mila Duncan, Elijah Moore, Elizabeth Moore; and his brother, Phillip Bunton.
Andrew was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was dedicated to serving the Lord as a Deacon in his church, Bayview Baptist and Dentsville Baptist. In his earlier years at Bayview he served as Royal Ambassador Director, Basketball Coach, Sunday School Assistant and in many other capacities as he never said no to any opportunity that came his way. He was a faithful and loyal servant of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Andrew retired from trucking after 40 plus years and served 20years in the Army National Guard. In his earlier years he also served as a volunteer firefighter with the Dentsville Volunteer Fire Department.
The service for Andrew D. Bunton, Sr.,  will be held at 2:00 o’clock, Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Bayview Baptist Church, 5300 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC with Rev. Eggie Figueroa and Jeffery T. Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 o’clock.
