Alvin Ray Holsonback , Sr.

Ray Holsonback , Sr., of Cayce, passed away on February 10, 2021

Ray was born in Joanna, SC, on November 19, 1933. He was the son of the late John Marvin Holsonback and Gussie Lou Dominick Holsonback .

Ray was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a member of the Trinity Mens ( Elderly) Sunday School Class.

He was a diesel mechanic, shop foreman, and truck driver. He drove for many truck dealerships when he retired. He mainly drove for Newton Truck Sales. George Newton was not only his employer, but a dear friend and a blessing to him.

Ray served in the US Army from May 1954 to May 1956, serving in Japan.

Burial will be at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife Ann Cunningham Holsonback , of 63 years.

Two sons, Ray Holsonback , Jr.(Darlene) of West Columbia,

Jack Holsonback , of Gaston, and one daughter, Janice Strube(William), of Cayce.

Grandchildren, Stacy Tobias(Wesley), Courtney Holsonback , Christopher Strube(Kati), Melissa Griffith(Sarah), and Dillan Holsonback .

Great grandchildren , Kadin Miles, Brielle Tobias, Atticus Stone, Ari Strube, Sutton Strube, and Sullivan Griffith. His family was very important to him, especially those great grands.

He is also survived by a brother, Frank Holsonback of Newberry, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by twin brothers, Robert Lee and

Ralph Lewis Holsonback .

Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund.
