Allan Dale Rotan
September 06 th , 1952 – March 3 rd , 2021
Allan “Pepaw” Rotan, 68, of West Columbia, South Carolina, passed away on the 3 rd day of March, 2021.
Allan was born September 6 th , 1952 to Frances Clyburn in Florence, South Carolina. He graduated from Airport High School in 1970 at the age of 17. He went on to become a professional freelance musician. He performed as “Beat E. Zassoff” in Bill Haney & the Zassoff Boys, playing with such acts as Tim Mcgraw, Charlie Daniels, & George Jones , traveling all over Europe, Italy, and Korea. Allan also proudly served his country for four years, earning his sharp shooter badge while in Germany . Once home , he got his CDL and found a home at Vendor’s Supply, Inc., where he was happily employed for nearly 10 years.
When he wasn’t working, Allan was visiting his mother, son ( Joshua Rotan ) , and grandchildren ( Masyn & Lola ) . Nothing made him happier than seeing his grandkids run up to him with smiles on their faces.
Allan is predeceased by his brother; Franklin Rotan. He is survived by his mother, Frances Clyburn; son, Joshua Allan Rotan; daughter, Emily Allyn Rotan; brother, Terry Rotan; grandson; Masyn Rotan, and granddaughter; Lola Rotan.
