Ada Jean Rankin

West Columbia – Ada Jean Rankin, 85, of West Columbia, passed away September 23, 2016.

Jean was born in Punxsutawney, PA on November 3, 1930 to the late Delmer and Delcie Elkin Whitesell . She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, C. Ray Rankin and son, Kim Rankin, both of West Columbia, SC.  Jean is survived by sons: Charles Rankin II , Jeffrey Rankin, daughters: Jan Smith (Ed), Lori Nance (Wa de) and Marilyn Crouch (Bryan); grandchildren: Robert Rankin, Amy Silveri (Nate), Jennifer Riley (Brian), Brittany Georgiana (Prince), Nicole Shull (William), Gage Rankin, Kelsey Reigle (Sean) and great-grandchildren: Bailey (Michael), Maclane , Quentan , Aubrey, Ava, Em ma, Beckett, Avery and one great, great grandchild: Anthony.

Jean graduated from Punxsutawney High School. She met and married Ray in 1950 and began their family soon after. After the Lord , her family was the most important thing to her. She loved feeding her family and making sure there was always a homemade dessert and no one left her table hungry .

A celebration of life will be on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Mosel e y’s Funeral home at 914 Meeting Street, West Columbia.  The family will receive friends immediately after the service. There will be a private interment.
