Cayce – Services for David Furman Jeffcoat, 83, will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at West Columbia First Church of the Nazarene, 350 Watling Road, West Columbia, SC 29170, with Reverends Bill Harmon and Steve Kittrell officiating. Burial will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 .m. on Friday, May 13, 2016, at Moseley Funeral & Cremation Service of West Columbia. Pall Bearers will be his nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be his group of friends from D & D's in West Columbia and Captain D's in Cayce.

 

Mr. Jeffcoat died Tuesday, May 10, 2016. Born in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late John Henry Jeffcoat and Ida Belle Shaw. He retired from Cintas Uniform Services. Mr. Jeffcoat was a minister of music for over 40 years in the Church of the Nazarene, where he also served as Sunday School Superintendent. He loved to sing and used his God given talent to minister to others. He grew up in the Olympia and Granby mill community and was proud to be known as a “Lint Head.” One of his favorite things in life was fishing at Santee.

 

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law Maria and Chuck Urbanek; granddaughter and grandson-in-law Tristan and PFC Josh Ulengchong, and granddaughter Braylin Urbanek. His granddaughters were the pride and joy of his life. Also surviving are his sister-in-law Ann Jeffcoat; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Harold and Jo Stover and Rev Gene and Kitty Reynolds; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances R. Jeffcoat, brother JW Jeffcoat, sister-in-law Bernice Jeffcoat, sister Maudine Coleman, brother-in-law Marvin Coleman, and brother Clarence Jeffcoat.
