Cayce - Talmadge James Hickman Jr., 76, of Cayce, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016. A crypt side service will be held 11 AM on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Southland Memorial Gardens mausoleum Garden Building 3. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the mausoleum crypt.Pastor Georg Retzlaff will officiate the service. Masonic Rites will be carried out by Cayce Masonic Lodge #384. The family has asked that the Cayce Masonic Lodge #348 serve as honorary pallbearers. 

Born in Richland County, SC, James was a son to the late Talmadge James Hickman Sr., and Ruth Birchmore Hickman. James was honored to have held both the Past Worthy Parton of the Eastern Stare #260 and the Past Master of the Cayce Masonic Lodge #384. 

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions to be sent to the National Kidney Foundation, Finance Department, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016. 

Mr. Hickman is survived by his wife, Tanya Jones Hickman; childrenTalmadge James Hickman the third, Heyward Hickman, Dawn M. Beard and Shawn L. Kincaid. He is also survived by five grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild

James was preceded in death by brother Leroy Hickman (Kay) of West Columbia and sister Mary Sanders (Larry) of Columbia.

James is survived by brothers Earl Hickman and Johnny Hickman both of West Columbia and sister Irene H. Derrick (Donald) of Batesburg Leesville.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. May you find comfort in the resurrection promise at John 5;28,29 that reads; "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming when all that are in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." The Bible gives us hope that one day our dead loved ones will be brought back to life.
