A graveside service for Catherine L. Headden of Gilbert will be held at 3pm on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Old Macedonia Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Nancy Brazell and Rev. Chris Chambers. The family will receive friends beginning at 6pm on Friday, December 12, 2014 at their home, 117 Hayes Street Gilbert, SC 29054. The family would be grateful for blood donations to the Red Cross in her memory.

Mrs. Catherine L. Headden has gone to heaven to join God, her beloved Rudy Headden, and many loved family and friends in heaven after lengthy illnesses. She passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the age of 66. Born in Columbia, SC on August 20, 1948, she was the daughter of the late James Chambers and Lula Brazell Chambers. Catherine was a US Postal carrier for 17 years in Gilbert and she loved her coworkers and the people on the route she served.

Catherine is survived by her children, Heidi (Richard) Gates and Charlie (Pamela) Headden, Sr.; grandchildren, Caterina Gates, and Charlie, Frankie, C.J. Headden, and Sandy Gates; great-grandchildren, Devin, Pamela, Natacha, Sierra Headden, Dalton Smith and Jessica Smith; siblings, James Chambers, Lloyd Chambers, Paul (Vivian) Chambers, and Shirley (Larry) Jordan. She was preceded in death by her husband; siblings, Hubert Chambers, Betty Lou Chambers, Thomas Chambers and Sammy Chambers.

The family is very thankful to Red Cross for all the blood donations. They would also like to thank the Palmetto Health Richland ER, Marion, MICU, MSU, Regency Hospice, Fast Track Transportation, Columbia Nephrology, NHC Lexington, and all of the health care professionals involved in Mrs. Headden’s care.
