September 06th, 1952 – March 3rd, 2021

Allan “Pepaw” Rotan, 68, of West Columbia, South Carolina, passed away on the 3rd day of March, 2021.

Allan was born September 6th, 1952 to Frances Clyburn in Florence, South Carolina. He graduated from Airport High School in 1970 at the age of 17. He went on to become a professional freelance musician. He performed as “Beat E. Zassoff” in Bill Haney & the Zassoff Boys, playing with such acts as Tim Mcgraw, Charlie Daniels, & George Jones, traveling all over Europe, Italy, and Korea.  Allan also proudly served his country for four years, earning his sharp shooter badge while in Germany. Once home, he got his CDL and found a home at Vendor’s Supply, Inc., where he was happily employed for nearly 10 years.

When he wasn’t working, Allan was visiting his mother, son (Joshua Rotan), and grandchildren (Masyn & Lola). Nothing made him happier than seeing his grandkids run up to him with smiles on their faces.

Allan is predeceased by his brother; Franklin Rotan. He is survived by his mother, Frances Clyburn; son, Joshua Allan Rotan; daughter, Emily Allyn Rotan; brother, Terry Rotan; grandson; Masyn Rotan, and granddaughter; Lola Rotan.
