Martha ‘Mot’ Lorine Dorn Inabinet of West Columbia passed away on Friday, March 8th. She was 96 years old. Born March 11, 1927 in Columbia, SC she was the eldest daughter of James and Virginia Dorn. Having resided at 210 Carpenter St since she was 5 years old, she grew up with her younger siblings, Alice & Jane Dorn. She was married to Harold L. Inabinet and they had 4 children together. She is survived by her son Harold J. and daughter in law Gail Inabinet, daughter in law Renee Gantt, daughter Jenni and son in law Horace Hutto, and son Timmy Inabinet. Granny Mot had 7 grandchildren, Renee ‘Nay’, Christy(Kevin), Hal (Ann Marie), Stacey, Shara (Freddie), Amanda, and Cheyenne. She had 16 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren. After her husband passed, Mot was employed for many years by the SC Commission for the Blind, working at the canteen at the DMV Park Street. She enjoyed playing Bingo, family vacations at the beach and at the mountains. She was an avid and loyal Carolina Gamecocks fan! Mot most enjoyed spending time with, and taking care of, her family. She was predeceased by her loving parents, husband, and two sisters. She was also predeceased by her son, her beloved Bubba. The family would like to extend special thanks to Colonial Gardens on Sunset Blvd. and Lighthouse Hospice.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm Tuesday March 12, 2024 at Abundant Life Memorial Gardens, 1116 Delree St, West Columbia.
